Log
cutters cabin can be found on the B1255 between Bridlington and
Flamborough Head approximately 2 1/2 miles from Bridlington town
centre.
Sitting
upon one of the most awe-inspiring coastlines in the country and
surrounded by many natural and manmade attractions, log cutters
cabin really is a location to cherish. Bridlington itself, with its
historic harbour, is just a few minutes drive away and provides all
the traditional seaside charm the east coast is famed for.
The
historic village of Sewerby is even closer, and the majestic Sewerby
Hall and its beautifully landscaped gardens, are quite literally
next door. The hall dates back to 1714 and is set within 50 acres of
parkland which stretch right to the cliff tops. With a museum,
gallery, walled gardens, children’s zoo, bowling green and cricket
pitch, it’s a wonderful place to visit.
Immediately to the north is Danes Dyke, a dramatic man made
earthwork, adjacent to the soaring chalk cliffs of Bempton. The 20
foot deep and 60 feet wide ditch stretches over 2 miles and is
believed to have been made by Iron Age settlers some 2000 years ago.
Within a
few short miles is the historic fishing village of Flamborough with
its tiny whitewashed sea-stone fishing cottages and market place.
The famous Flamborough lighthouse is nearby.
Midway
between Bridlington and Driffield is Burton Agnes hall, one of the
most beautiful Elizabethan houses in the country dating back to
1598.
York,
Hull, Scarborough and Beverley can all be reached in under an hour.
